We were greeted by a beautiful fireworks display from a boat about 100 feet from our dock on our first night, which was a wonderful surprise. The rooms and hallways were large, the screened in porch was ideally situated facing the lake for a coffee in the mornings. We were a short drive to town. The furniture was comfortable, and the tutor itself was very charming with ornate designs and woodwork within.

Charming old cottage right on Lake George. Location is far enough away from town that it’s quiet but easy enough to access shops, restaurants, etc. Very chill relaxing spot, kids had a blast swimming and fishing.

We had a great stay at the Owl's Nest! The home was clean and included everything we would need during the stay. Communication with Bill was great. He provided all of the information regarding check-in when needed and was quick to respond to questions.
We brought our boat with us and kept it tied up at the private dock for the week. The dock was nice and the location was convenient to Dunham's Bay Marina. If you have an appreciation for history take the time to admire the history of the home and its origins. Recommended rental from a family who rents in LG almost every year. Thanks Bill!

Very unique building. Sort of a mini castle. A trip back in time, specifically 1885. The setting of the building is very private and it has a lovely view of Dunham's Bay. Enjoyed use of the dock and canoe. The rooms are large and spacious.

A true pre-era vintage historic cottage. Great location just minutes from the village. U-shaped dock in a sheltered bay. If you like an old school vibe it’s perfect!

Location of this home was great. With a few changes this could be better. Would suggest buying a complete set of linens bath mats, wash clothes, towels, sheets and pillow cases. If you removed a few pieces of furniture , would seem more spacious. It was very dark inside, not much you can do about that, but better lighting and electrical fixtures would help immensely. The kitchen was very usable, bathrooms could use a little work.

Owl's nest is a beautiful cottage located on quiet Dark Bay just off the main lake which makes it perfect for canoeing and kayaking.. The cottage is nice and full of history. Cute and quirky and overall, lovely. Bill, the property owner, was very responsive to our emails and accommodating to our needs.

Returning to spend some time on a boat in Lake George was great. The property had nice access to a calm bay and a great dock to use if you rent or have a boat. House had a nice new kitchen and when the grill didn’t work the owner replaced that night (thank you). Dust could have been removed from fans and screened when windows and weeds could have been knock down, but it made it a bit more “Adirondacky”. Had a wonderful time.

Everything was great, Bill. Thanks so much!

The property interior was super clean. The sheets and towels were ancient and the towels had holes in them. The bed was old and every time one of us moved the entire bed moved. The deck had so much overgrown vegetation around it it became impossible to sit on it due to bugs. The deck table was broken and held up by a rock. The interior furniture was the same. Old and uncomfortable. The screened in porch was nice but was infested with black wasps. The best part was the dock.

It was everything we were expecting.

Great if not one of the best locations on Lake George. The Owl's Nest has a true lake house/cottage feel. Easy access to local shopping and attractions. The house itself is well stocked with the basic needs for a summer vacation.
Our only recommendation would be ceiling fans in the bedrooms or possibly a window A/C unit for the warm nights. We understand the age/history of the cottage might not make it possible for window units. Great contact with the owner. Any questions we had for the owner via email were answered within hours.
