This unit was really good for us. 1 bedroom, 2 baths (1 a shower) in a great location. The view from the lanai is hard to believe. I've never seen such attention to a property's lawn. The entire lawn looks so much like a putting green that I thought it was artificial turf! In fact, they DO have an informal putting green on the lawn with various holes to practice on. They supply the putters and balls. It was busy a LOT! Very close to Azeka Mall, an easy walk to the restaurants and stores there. Plenty of parking at the Maui Sunset. We never had to search for a spot. There's an elevator to each of the 5 floors (not all condos in Maui have elevators, this is a "plus"). Nice pool and hot tub, with tennis courts between them and the beach. It's a great area to watch the sunset and take your dogs out (there was a lot of that) and meet people if you like.
The condo itself is well priced for what it is: a very functional and relaxing spot! No granite counter tops or shiny new appliances. But everything works and does you what you need. All the basic amenities you need with none of the "flash and flair". Which was perfect for us. Older decor, but clean and easy. We're not the only ones, it appears to be booked out until early 2025 (hoping for someone to cancel, we'll go again). Check in was easy. Close to a lot of nice eateries, easy parking. Not fancy. Not for everyone, but if you're looking for Hawaii at a lower price with decent but basic accommodations, it's perfect.

Maui Sunset is one of the best locations for windsurfers. this is not the best beach for swimming but there are plenty nearby. The accommodation was comfortable but did require some updating.

A comfortable home away in retro style rather than corporate bling. The host responded promptly to our concerns. The rental had more than sufficient amenities and worked well. We spent most of our time at the pool surrounded by a very well maintained garden. Daily cleaning of the barbecues was much appreciated!

Our stay was nice. We had to have repair man to correct some problems. We did do a cleaning. All was good and enjoyed the stay.

Enjoyed our stay for two weeks in the condo. The grounds and property of the Maui Sunset was incredible. The condo suited all of our needs (two parents + 12yrs and 9yrs). Yes it is slightly dated but clean and well maintained. We will be back!

We loved the location. Although the unit hasn’t been updated it had everything we need to have a fantastic stay. We even meet up with the owner who went out of his way to find us some more outdoor equipment. Great value for the price.

Location was ideal as a home base for visiting Maui and the suite is fully stocked with everything you need! Only downside is the pull-out sofa is extremely worn out and the “mattress” is torn up and not very comfortable. Great value considering how pricey accommodations can be in however.

We spent 29 nights in May at this well located condo. The grounds and views were great. But the condo could use some new updates. Check-in and out were easy. We did find someone's baby underwear under the small table next to the TV stand and a 3 year old Costco receipt between the sofa cushions. Could have been oversight by the cleaning crew. We did enjoy our daily breakfast on the lanai listening to all the birds.

Nice little place
We had a great time at Maui Sunset. The place was modest but comfortable and we had everything right there at the complex for our family to enjoy paradise! A vacuum in the condo would be nice for the future. Mahalo and Aloha!

This condo unit was in need of an update...cabinets, counter tops, bathrooms and the patio furniture. It was clean and the inside tropical furniture and decorations made us feel Hawaiian. However, we did not use the toilet in the bedroom as it ran constantly and the 2 clocks in the main living area need batteries. Not happy with the TV service so we did not watch it much, but the WiFi was good. The frying pans in the kitchen need to be replaced otherwise there were enough dishes to use as we cooked most of our meals due to dietary restrictions. The Brita Water filter pitcher in the refrigerator was a plus and saved us from buying bottled water. The property owner also had towels, beach chairs and other beach items to use which is why we like VRBO services. The location of Maui Sunset on the beach was ideal and their lawns were the best ...great for bare feet and well kept. For the price per night this property was okay.

Excellent stay
We had a great time and enjoyed this condo. It is an excellent affordable option for families like ours. I've already recommended it to a friend who will be going over in a couple months. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintaned. The complex is right on the beach and there are a lot of things for the kids to do.

The common area is very well kept, and nice. The beach is also very nice. If you're staying here and you want to hit all the tourist spots, you're going to want a rental car, but everything you need is within walking distance as well.

We SO enjoyed our time at Kamaole Sands! The condo was well equipped with EVERY thing we needed. The beach across the street was great. Having A/C in the bedroom was a wonderful bonus! This condo is spacious,clean and upscale. We were here during the Covid19 outbreak and the way it was handled as far as cleanliness was outstanding. We would LOVE to stay here again.

25th Anniversary celebration
Great location, and close to the beach. The sunset view was fantastic. The grounds are well kept. If you're looking for a quiet, layed back place to stay, this is it. The condo is a little outdated, but everything we needed was provided. A/C in the bedroom is a nice bonus.

Small but great.
Great little one bedroom. Second story out of 6. Nice pool and hot tub. Seems like it is mostly a retirement community. Stackable Washer and dryer are extremely loud and stuffed into the kitchen pantry. Grounds are extremely well maintained. Lower numbers on rooms are closer to road and further from beach.

The Maui Sunset is a terrific property with various lawn activities and a nice pool/hot tub area. Although the beach isn't conducive to swimming, it can be walked, and there are lots of turtles to see along the shoreline. It's conveniently located with an easy walk to stores and restaurants.

Maui Sunset is a very nice condo complex. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the pool is large and never crowded, and it is right on the beach. Unit B204 is like walking into old hawaii. The furniture is bamboo frame with newer cushions. The bed needs a new mattress as it is sooo soft. I slept on the couch. The kitchen is well stocked with all the cooking pans etc that you will need. The unit is nice and clean. Unfortunately there is no view of the ocean from the balcony as the trees block it. This is not a luxury unit however was a comfy place to stay. We like the Kihei area. Not so crowded and easy to get around.

Great pool and location.
We stayed in B204. Walking in was like going back to old Hawaii. The living room furniture was the bamboo frame style with newer cushions. The sofa was very comfortable. The kitchen although older was clean and very well appointed and ready for cooking. Dish soap, detergent, food wraps and some condiments were provided. The bed was very soft with a foam topper. If you like to sink deep into bed this one is for you. I slept on the sofa.
The grounds here are pristine with a large pool. 8 gas grills are located between the 2 buildings. They are cleaned every morning. All this located right on the beach and close to grocery stores and restaurants.
We has a nice stay but definitely needs a new mattress.

A beautiful property just steps from the ocean. I've stayed in Kaanapali several time, but I actually enjoyed Kihei better. You have everything you need very close. This condo complex is immaculate overall and the unit we stayed in was perfect in every way. You cannot go wrong with this fully stocked unit and you can actually see the ocean from the balcony.Stop reading this and book your dream vacation without worry.
