Waterfront House

Our host, Kim, was so friendly and helpful. She was present when we arrived, showed us to our amazing room with an amazing view of the sea. Breakfast was self-served with an egg steamer, porridges, fruits, croissants, breads, coffee and the room fridge was filled was gourmet goodies like kefir, whole milk (with the cream), orkney cheese, orkney fudge, juice, and kombucha. The fact that we had laundry facilities was amazing. Centrally located to everything we wanted to do on Orkney, beautiful surroundings, just an amazing place.

Everything was perfect. Check-in was very smooth. Room literally equipped with everything including the stocked fridge with nice local treats. The room has a beautiful view over water and you can spend hours in the rocking chair. And I really loved that bathroom had both shower and jacuzzi bath. Kim is a fantastic host who gave me advice on the local transportation, places to see and some tips as well. She was a great support throughout the whole stay. I will definitely be back.

Fabulous location with a lovely view. Very central for visiting all of the Orkney sights. Hosts were lovely and accommodating and helpful. Great to have convenient parking and the washer and dryer. Highly recommend for this as a unique and delightful stay for your Orkney adventure.

Not what was advertised . I was expecting a self catering cottage and king size room with use of a kitchen as it was advertised as Jupiter cottage with king size bedroom . It is a small room with small double bed in an attic with sloping roof . Not great for anyone over 5ft 5. No sink . Outcries hard with breakfast things ( croissant , jam, eggs , toast ) but I would have rather had use of a kitchen . It is on a noisy road and has a noisy air duct so had to sleep with ear plugs . Silly things like a TV in the bathroom do not make up for pokey space and noise . Had use of a washing machine .
