La Doc House, una proprietà sul lungomare, con Major Upgrades and Renovations nel 2018. Per migliorare questa bella proprietà sulla spiaggia c'era un ampio paesaggio, nuova vernice per l'interno e l'esterno, e nuovi pavimenti in tutte le camere da letto. Questa casa di Oceanfront è molto singolare in quanto gode di una vista spettacolare di 360 che si affaccia sulle teste della testa calva, Southport Channel; L'Oceano Atlantico, la foresta marittima e la palude dall'interno della casa e da nessuno dei 3 grandi ponti.
La spiaggia è a meno di 100 metri dalla casa! Camminate lungo il tuo bacino privato in riva al mare, impostate la tua sedia, attaccate i piedi nella sabbia e godetevi il sole. Potete guardare le barche da deriva, spot delfini, uccelli e le balene di humpback d'inverno che cercano l'esca intorno alle teste della testa calva.
Questa casa è stata costruita in modo personalizzato da una coppia che ha selezionato la proprietà per non solo le viste ineguagliabili, ma è una delle località più comode dell'isola. The trip to Bald Head proved to be wonderful and Docs house was the perfect place to stay. I appreciate all their attention to details...a well stocked kitchen and extra blankets and beach equipment to name a few. The sunset off the deck was spectacular and just being able to look out at the water everyday was magical. We hope to be able to go back to Docs again.

We have been to bald head many times. Really nice place with exceptional views of the water and the ships. Walk out the back to a very quiet beach near western end of South beach.

Doc's was wonderful, couldn't beat the view !! Loved walking right out to the Ocean. Furniture a little dated but didn't bother us. Temp was in the 90's the week we were there so the air con had a little trouble keeping us. However, ITrip was wonderful coming out and trying to fix issue. We'll be Back for certain !!

We loved the location of the Doc House and the views are beautiful.
ITrip was very responsive throughout the entire stay and appreciate their attention to detail in preparation for our visit along with departure.
BHI is one of our favorite places and look forward to coming back next year.

My family of 4 (2 teens) stayed at Doc House for a week and really loved the house & location. It is a bit dated but overall the house is just fantastic, roomy, comfortable and has LOTS of windows and light pouring in everywhere. The back & front yards are definitely overgrown and does seem to hinder the view from the back deck somewhat as well as the walkway to the beach, however, the location of the house has a spectacular view regardless. We enjoyed amazing sunsets / sunrises, the ferry boat, large barges, smaller boats and yachts going past the house every day! It was wonderful!! The beach is not as wide on the West side, but since it’s not the ocean side of the island, it’s alot calmer for swimming. The golf cart was very handy to get where we needed to go, however, it does not hold a charge for long at all, so we ended up renting a cart one day (from Cary Cart) to tour the island without fear of being stranded. That worked out really well, just annoyed with having the added expense when the listing included a golf cart. The management company, (Itrip) are amazingly responsive and accommodating, but when we complained about the cart, they just stated “it’s slower, older and in working condition as we just had it serviced and checked out”. It barely made it to the Maritime Market & back …or up a hill. The owner may want to consider upgrading the cart (or battery?) for future renters. A lot of lightbulbs were out, need replaced. Within walking distance to ALOT!!

We came to Bald Head for a family vacation and had a wonderful time. Doc House is fine for a small family or 3 couples. We loved that it has private beach access and is dog friendly. We had an issue with the golf cart the first night but the people at iTrip resolved it quickly. We would recommend iTrip and Doc House for your trip to Bald Head.

March is a refreshing time to spend at BHI. The island is quiet & there are many opportunities to enjoy nature during this cooler time. This was our first time staying g at The Doc House & it didn’t disappoint. It has little extras that add to the experience- binoculars for bird watching, beach towels, out door shower/dog washing station, boardwalk to the beach, & SPECTACULAR views of Old Baldy & the ocean. We enjoyed watching the sunrise & sunset from the balcony!

Have stayed at 11 different homes in BHI over the last 15 years. This home had the best view out of all of them. The home is located on the beach at the causeway, conveniently located to restaurants, shops and the market. The house was very clean and comfortable. Of the homes we’ve stayed in this home was probably one of the oldest and was a little dated. I would recommend for future guests the offering of soaps, shampoos etc. for bathrooms , foils, wraps etc and storage containers for the kitchen. The addition of these items would only make a nice home nicer. This home has lots of memories and if the walls could talk I would love to hear the stories. We made great memories in our short stay. I would still highly recommend this home and give it a full 5 stars and would certainly stay here again.

We stayed here for a week and it was absolutely lovely. The patio was great to enjoy the sunsets and the location is perfect! We’ve been coming to BHI for 3 years now and my first time renting with itrips. I’ll definitely be back and hoping to check out more of their properties. The home was very nice, well adorned and was perfect for our larger group stay.

Property is much more run down than the pictures and needs a very deep cleaning. Golf cart ran down battery just going to market. Good location next to harbor.

The house and location are lovely. We had some issues with the golf cart and also the tv which we had to e persistent to get addressed ( actually the tv we gave up on).

Outside not well keep especially that it was beginning of the season.
Fail to mention, from driveway to the kitchen you have to climb 32 stairs

Great property, the photos are accurate and it’s a lovely property that shows some age. As a grandfather and a fixit guy, it was hard to sit still and not fix the minor issues I found. A day of handyman services would help but the overall quality of the property is great and would easily recommend this property.

Older cottage with very basic furnishings. However, it was clean and in a convenient location that is in easy walking distance to the marina and Old Baldy. The kitchen and a living area are upstairs and lead out to the upper deck. There are lovely views from upstairs and a small TV. The 3 bedrooms and a small den are downstairs and have little in the way of views due to natural vegetation. However the vegetation is nice for privacy. The larger TV is downstairs is the smaller living space. There is a nice walkway leading to the beach. Outside and lower deck need some attention. Overall it was fine for us and we enjoyed our time on beautiful Bald Head Island!

The views, and the ease of getting on the beach, as well as a golf cart that allowed us all to travel together was amazing. Only complaint was the moldy air conditioner vents. Still had a fabulous visit.

We had such a great long weekend at Doc House. It has everything you need with fantastic views! You can watch the massive cargo ships go by in the mornings as well as the beautiful sunsets in the evenings. It even had a baby gate and a pack n play for our one year to use! My only suggestion would be a hose or some way to rinse your feet off by the front of the house for those that aren't able to climb the spiral staircase but its only a minor issue and may not be one for most! Truly enjoyed our stay and cant wait to go back!

My adult granddaughter, daughter and I shared a memorable experience on Bald Island for 4 days at this grand home, overlooking the Cape Fear River. The sunsets rom the upstairs balcony were absolutely stunning! The home was immaculate, spacious, and pet-friendly for my senior citizen, arthritic canine companion. He's 15 yrs. old and physically limited, but we didn't think that required him to stay home in a kennel. Thank you for letting him share this experience with us! I wish the home-owners promoted recycling, however. Bald Island Village does. Since there were no designated recycling containers at the home, we delivered our "save the earth and sea turtle" recyclables to the island bins near the village on the handy golf cart provided by the home. We left the island, glowing, after our opportunity to observe a loggerhead-baby hatching event with the Bald Island Conservancy. We'll be back!

The Doc House is a fantastic property--no complaints.
The property manager, iTrip was a nightmare. There were multiple issues that arose during our stay and iTrip was unable to resolve them and in one instance caused the issue.
1. Golf cart was failing. iTrip makes sure to inform you that they are not responsible for providing a working cart. They'll do their best, they say. Just know that without a cart, or a smaller cart than expected, you will not be able to get around the island.
2. Snake died and was rotting under a stuck/locked door in the garage. After several days of delays and minimal responses from iTrip the smell of the rotting snake permeated the house where we were stuck without an adequate golf cart. Finally, we chopped the snake up with a knife and disposed of it and tried to clean away the stinky residue. Happy vacation y'all!
3. iTrip had a refrigerator delivered while we were there! The old fridge worked perfectly but a new one was being delivered during our stay. Couldn't be helped, they said. We had our dog with us and no crate, a fridge full of food, and a small golf cart that wouldn't fit all of us--so we waited around for the delivery and it didn't come. The delivery extended into the next day. Several hours after the anticipated time, we loaded all of our food into coolers and waited for the install to be completed and then re-stocked the fridge. Quite an inconvenience for an expensive ocean-front rental on BHI.
4. When the owner of iTrip knew that we were unhappy with how things were going she offered to rent us a 4-person cart from Cary Cart Company only if I agreed not to post a negative review. That didn't sit well. I wondered why if she knew I was unhappy and experiencing legitimate problems that were not being solved during a vacation, why not help make it better rather than try to silence me? Yuck.
Overall, we had a few problem-free days. We still love Bald Head and we loved the Doc House but will avoid iTrip. They don't have the resources or on-island presence to take care of the things that come up with a vacation rental.

The Doc House on Bald Head Island was an absolute great find. The reverse floor plan is perfect with spectacular views of the ocean and channel. The home is fully equipped with everything you need and our stay was fabulous. Itrip was great to work with throughout the whole process. Great customer service and communication. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. We had a great vacation. We hope to be back very soon.

The air conditioner upstairs does not work appropriately. Long story short… the unit was recently replaced. On our second night the temperature upstairs was 81 with the thermostat set on 70…. The management company sent out a service tech twice and identified a “ leak”. He said it was fixed. Needless to say it was not fixed. I contacted the rental company and they sent tech again…. He said that there was nothing else he could do. He stated that the owners needed to replace the windows. Unfortunately it made for an unpleasant stay. Every night it was 81 and it was unbearable. The air vents are in the ceiling and so much condensation collected that while I was cooking at the stove water would drip onto my head….. Our second issue was with the 25 year old fridge. We had popsicles in the freezer that did not freeze all week. We contacted the rental company. They sent a tech who said we had “blocked” the air vent in the freezer with a bag of ice. He rearranged it and said that was all he could do. He said the unit was too old to order parts for. We contacted the rental company again to let them know we had had to start using coolers and ice to keep our food cold and that items in the freezer were still not freezing…. They offered to reimburse us for our bags of ice LOL. The day before we left someone from the iTrip rental office came to look at the fridge. She told us that the fridge issue had been addressed and that the owners of the house would be replacing the windows this winter. So basically she admitted that they new the air conditioning was an issue and it had been an issue in the past. They never offered to bring over fans to help with the heat. The house has a beautiful view off the top deck and it’s a quiet spot. They also allow dogs. But beware… unless they’ve replaced the fridge be prepared to store your food on ice and if 80 degree temps while your standing over a hot stove cooking is your cup of tea this house is for you!!

My husband and two teenage children had a great week. The house was perfectly equipped with a beautiful view from the main level. We loved having our own private boardwalk to the beach. We would walk along the beach morning and evening and rarely see another person. A relaxing and peaceful home in a beautiful setting! Highly recommend and hope to return soon!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Doc House. The house is well maintained and clean. Gorgeous views all around! Lots of deck space with shade or sun. Two minute ride to the marina and quiet. Everything you need for a relaxing time.

The property was clean but we would never stay there again. 'The furnishings look like they have been used for 50 years and then this turned out to be a good place to put them. Very few comfortable chairs and couches should be retired as they are worn out and sagging. Signs all over the place telling us what we should and shouldn't be doing are most annoying. Make a good book and get rid of signs. No sign on the TV telling us how to work it and we never did figure that out from the directions we received before arrival. This place that could be terrific but has a worn out personality and lacks character.

The communication from the property owners made our stay so easy. Property was well described, and very comfortable to stay in. Property owners had thought of everything and we were checked on several times by text to make.sure we were happy. Would definitely stay here again!

This oceanfront house had everything we needed—sweeping ocean views, spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds, lots of amenities and extras. The bicycles were in good shape and were used for long rides around the island. The house is walking distance from the village, the harbor, Old Baldy, the chapel and the post office. The 6-seater golf cart was the perfect size for my group of 5. Large windows all around let in lots of light. There was a bonus—a study on the bedroom level that was perfect for a writing space away from the activities in the living room/kitchen.
Only downside was the the pots and pans could stand to be replaced.

We loved the views from the upper deck and the comfortable living spaces. Access to everything we needed and wanted to experience was easy. House had all the amenities for an enjoyable stay.
