The Winchester Hotel by NEWMARK

The Winchester is a gorgeous hotel on the promenade. A lovely convenient hotel to enjoy all Cape Town has to offer!

This is a stylish boutique hotel. As such the rooms can be very different in size and this is reflected in price differences. That said both rooms we had were spotlessly clean and stylishly and newly decorated. Bathrooms were excellent. The building is around a central courtyard with beautiful flowers but due to the weather we were unable to sit there however there was outside seating by the bar and restaurant with view of the seafront. Staff were friendly and helpful. The courtesy car to the V and A was helpful however there is a hop on and off bus stop also outside which enabled us an excellent tour of the area giving us ideas of what we wanted to see in more depth. A very secure location.

The outside pool was a lovely place to sit but at this time of year was too cold for us to enjoy for swimming.

A very pleasant stay overall. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout. Breakfast was a real highlight: beautifully presented and delicious. The rooms were spotless, and housekeeping did an excellent job. Lobby and food hall was just amazing and you can see paragliders flying above. location is great and feel safe and near campus bay and clifton beach

Nothing major, just a small suggestion to add more variety to the breakfast menu. The spa was great, but needs some improvement in massage therapy as in overall quality and experience .

It is conveniently located. The breakfast was varied and tasty.

I knew the room did not have a view but I expected more space, better finishes and everything to work. The reception area is small and mostly chaotic. There is only one rather slow lift. The services are available on the TV only and it was showing photos but no detail such as the restaurant menu. The cupboard door did not fit properly, was flimsy and banged against the bedroom door when opened. The hanging space was tiny and occupied entirely by an ironing board which had to stand out in the room in order to fit in my clothes. The shower door stuck. It was quickly fixed when I reported it. The restaurant menu was more that of a pub than that of a high-end restaurant
