Thon Hotel Astoria

Breakfast was great, however the rooms were stuffy, no coffee in the room. The location was excellent.

I reserved for two days but only spent one because booking .com and thon astoria weren't in communication at all . I was quite frustrated, didn't get a refund and no one bothered at all.

I have stayed at Thon Hotel Astoria before and chose to return because of my positive experience during my previous visit. Once again, I was very pleased with my stay. The location is truly superb, right in the heart of Oslo. The hotel is within easy walking distance of many of the city's major attractions, including Karl Johans gate, the Oslo Opera House, the MUNCH Museum, the National Museum, Oslo Central Station, the waterfront, Akershus Fortress, and many excellent restaurants, cafés, and shops. For anyone who wants to explore Oslo on foot, it is difficult to find a more convenient location. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the stay. The rooms are on the smaller side, but they are clean, comfortable, and perfectly adequate for a short city stay. One of the highlights is the breakfast, which is excellent and offers a wide variety of options. In my opinion, the breakfast alone adds considerable value to the stay. Overall, I had another very positive experience at Thon Hotel Astoria and would happily return again. The combination of the outstanding central location, friendly staff, comfortable accommodations, and excellent breakfast makes this a very good choice for visiting Oslo. I highly recommend it.

Very friendly staff, especially at breakfast. The room was small but still worked well. Breakfast was excellent. Location perfect by the railway station.

The room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Easy to get to from Oslo train station.

I found the hotel very noisy. Could hear noise from other rooms which is to be expected but also heard loud music - not sure if this was from the nearby pubs and bars or from someone's room but I didn't get much sleep during my two night stay. I also didn't get to sample the breakfast which was included just as the breakfast area was far too busy and crowded for me personally - I struggled to even find where the plates and bowls were as it was so crowded. I also didn't have a view - I opened the curtains to find that my room was right by the air con/heat pump units which I could see directly out of my window along with concrete walls. For a two night work trip though it was fine and had everything I needed and as mentioned was very clean.
