The West Park Hotel

When we arrived our room had only bath showing ,my wife has problem ,replacement hips , so we asked could we have a room with walk in shower . They change with out any problem plus staff were most helpful.would stay again .

The warm welcome. Beautiful room, bathroom with bath and walkin shower. Tea and coffee making facilities. Great breakfast, cooked fresh. Location handy for town

We always have a lovely stay at the West Park. The staff are lovely, the rooms are immaculate and we highly recommend this hotel.

We have stayed at the West Park Hotel on numerous occasions. Unfortunately, I feel that the overall standard has noticeably deteriorated, and our most recent stay on Saturday was disappointing. Prior to our visit, we received a courtesy call from the hotel to confirm our booking and were offered an upgrade, which I was very happy to accept for an additional £20. During that conversation, I mentioned that we had previously stayed at the hotel for my wife's birthday on 17 January, when we unfortunately had a poor experience because the heating system in our room was not working and an electric oil-filled heater had been placed in the room as a temporary solution. I explained that, on this occasion, my wife and I were returning to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Given that the hotel had called in advance, knew about the occasion and had offered us an upgrade, I asked whether they might also be able to arrange something small such as flowers or a complimentary gift in the room as a gesture to mark the occasion. I was not expecting anything elaborate and certainly did not make this request as a condition of the booking; it was simply a small personal touch that I thought would make our anniversary stay special, particularly given our previous experience. Unfortunately, nothing had been arranged or mentioned on our arrival. The room was extremely warm and uncomfortable. We therefore had to use the air conditioning, but this was sufficiently noisy that it disturbed our sleep. There was also a light underneath the bath which remained illuminated throughout the night and, as far as we could establish, could not be switched off. This was surprisingly bright and, combined with the heat and noise from the air conditioning, made for a fairly poor night's sleep. More concerning to us, however, was the general level of hospitality.On this occasion, the general demeanour of the staff felt noticeably different. The warmth and personal service seemed to be missing!!
