B&B San Gimignano Diffuso

This was the perfect stay in San Gimignano. A balance between a central accommodation in the town (with incredible views from the Il Tortoli apartment) plus access to the countryside Ponte e Nappo for days by the pool. Wonderful hospitality from everyone. Cannot recommend highly enough and make sure you book in for the family dinner at Ponte e Nappo if you stay on. Monday or Thursday night. Carla’s home cooking was our best meal in San Gimignano. We stayed five nights.

If staying in the peak of summer you would miss air conditioning in the apartment, but it was fine for our stay in early September with temps still in the high 20’sC

Great location in the middle of the centre. The second location in the countryside has a swimming pool, which we were allowed to use as well, even after check out! Parking there was free, in the centre it is not (and you can only park outside the centre at an Parcheggio) but they accommodate the possibility to get in the centres’ traffic zone to (un)load. Beautiful authentic place, good breakfast

The bed was not comfortable: the mattress was very much sagged and the pillows very thin (so we used our own pillows). There is no airconditioning but they have fans. We texted that the fans made rattle sounds, they gave another one and fixed them! The bath/shower leaks a little which made the floor wet, for what we used one of the towels to dry. Eventhough the breakfast was good and there were enough options (sweet and savory), we found it a bit strange and awkward that we couldn’t grab the bread, cheese/meat of cakes ourselves. Finally, something the accommodation can’t control, but because it’s in the centre, there were some cars/trucks early in the morning on the square that made noises that woke me up. All by all a good accommodation, perfect location, good breakfast and friendly staff

Wonderful location, we very much enjoyed the pool and only a short distance by car from the accommodation to the pool. Lovely hosts, very helpful and a beautiful village to stay in.

The beds were a little hard, a mattress topper would be good.

Location is great.

The beds were so hard we couldn’t sleep. Pillows were old and uncomfortable Because many rooms are advertised on the site, I was unsure of correct location. We got lost trying to find the check-in area. The apartment itself was clean but very plain. Not what I expected for the price.
