A truly outstanding hotel (Very interested in the ‘Royal’ connection (Ex-Navy)

Easy check in beautiful hotel such history .
Easy walk from the station easy to find .
Beautiful room I had an upgrade to a master double room . Good value for money as it was discounted when I booked.

The hotel was interesting and quirky in a quiet location with good parking. The a staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was adequate but not good having to go to sister hotel for it. Liked the tea and coffee making arrangements and plenty of bottled water available. The room was clean and large bed comfortable with nice bedding.
Hotel run down and becoming grubby, carpets and bedroom furniture etc worn and tatty. Attention to detail very poor for example chest of drawer handles missing and bulbs in bedside table and ceiling lights missing. It doesn’t take a lot to check these things so very sloppy in this respect.
Not ideal having to go out, when wet for breakfast.
