The Glendalough Hotel

The location can't be beaten. They had ample free parking. The bed was very comfortable and I liked the room temperature, although may be on the cold side for some people. Got a great sleep. Bathroom clean with a very comfortable bath and lots of hot water. Reception staff were pleasant.

Unfortunately the breakfast is really grim. The dining room was freezing and there was almost no food available, nothing being topped up in the buffet. Almost funny how bad it was. The bar is only okay, really lacks atmosphere and staff were not in good form, also a lot of banging and noise as they dumped bottles and changed bins nearby. Sound insulation poor from the corridor into the bedroom. Also we heard a member of staff on reception lie to a guest about the availability of nearby nice pubs (there's one about 6 mins drive away and another about 20 mins). I imagine this is to try to get people to spend money in their substandard bar.

The location is superb. View from our room was fabulous The framed photographs of local sights that lined the hallways to bedrooms were really great. Staff were friendly.

Its a little dated. Breakfast offerings could do with a revamp. Guinness wasnt great in Caseys bar

The location was fantastic! The hotel is very close to Glendalough Park and within a reasonable walking distance of the lake. The walk to the lake is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by stunning scenery, making the journey just as enjoyable as the destination. A perfect location for anyone who wants to explore and enjoy the natural beauty of Glendalough.

Unfortunately, the staff were quite rude, and the customer service was disappointing. During breakfast, when we mentioned that there was no milk left, one of the staff members responded by saying “fuck” in a frustrated manner, which I found very unprofessional. I also experienced significant communication difficulties when I wanted to change my single room to a double room, as someone decided to join me. The process was unnecessarily complicated and frustrating. Additionally, the room was quite dusty and could have been cleaner. However, the view of the park from the room was beautiful, which was definitely a positive aspect of the stay.
