Hotel Barleben am See

This is a curious little hotel filled with artefacts from around the world. It’s an idyllic location directly on Lake Constance. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast buffet was lovely. The room and balcony was spacious although crowded

Perhaps the room constellation with the furniture can be redesigned as the bed is squashed into a nook while the bulk of the room filled with other furniture that served no purpose and impeded comfort

A wonderful location, directly at Lake Constanz/Bodensee. A beautiful historic villa with a lovely garden - truely unique. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Totally quiet. Close to the old town. There is a coffee machine (not tea) in the room. A spacious room.

Not much to say. It is a historic building, so it is not new which brings its charm - one just needs to know it. Reception or any other facilities are from 8am to 6pm only.

Great old hotel for classic old school kind of hotel experience but despite lovely staff and gardens, the hotel itself needed some ungrading in terms of details like towels, decor and some general modernisation. Breakfast was very limited and low standard, considering the owner has his own restaurant, I felt embarrassed. He obviously sees no point spending an extra cent on anything. Not even some fresh fruit but fruits out out of tin. It was insulting really for anyone who has travelled and cannot compete with the modern hotels who know people want a decent and generous breakfast in the mornings.
