Monachyle Mhor Hotel

Beautiful place! Passing the narrow street along the lake you arrive to this gorgeous place with loads of things to do and explore. Staff were very accommodating and helpfully. Our room was so pretty with the gigantic bathroom containing a shower and two bathtubs. Very very cool. Unfortunately, we only have spent one night there, but we’d love to come back one day. The dinner was great, lively atmosphere and delicious food. The best part for me was the breakfast though. The best Scottish breakfast I’ve had.

Beautiful hotel in stunning location. Staff are all so friendly and welcoming. Our dog was also made very welcome. The food was excellent and choices super. Extensive wine and drinks menu. The added on sauna experience was brilliant and we braved it for a dip in the river too! Again, the lady that helped us with that was so friendly and helpful. We had a lovely long walk down to the mohr 84 café for lunch and drinks where we were also made very welcome and staff were helpful at taxi details for return journey. Room was spacious and very clean, bed was so comfortable. Highly recommend this beautiful place. It was our 30th anniversary and I think each member of staff acknowledged that which really made a difference, thank you. Loved the teapot in the room and fresh milk.

Food is exceptional

Homely. Staff friendly and we swam in the lock.

Bit scruffy in places. Our towel rail which was actually in our room (as no bathroom door) was on all night on one of the warmest nights of the year and it wasn’t until the second time I woke in the night searching for the isolation switch that I found it hidden behind a bin on the other side of the room. When booking I didn’t realise this was a three star hotel. I probably booked in a hurry. Our stay cost us over £620 for one night in a small double room. We booked in for dinner not realising it was £100 each set menu. Dinner was fine nothing amazing. Breakfast was fine nothing amazing. I’ve read the reviews. I am clearly far fussier than most people but for this sort of money, I expect things to be pretty exceptional. Very overpriced. At least throw in the sauna!!
