Ferncliff

A beautiful house with a lot of history, converted into a hotel, with charming architectural details and a lovely garden. The two fireplaces were the highlight of the common areas, making the atmosphere especially cosy at night. The staff were also really kind and welcoming, which made us feel very comfortable during our stay. The room was very spacious and clean. We wished we could have stayed a little longer than just one night!

The room was a little cold, but the staff were kind enough to bring us a hot-water bottle to warm the bed, which was a lovely touch. It would have also been nice to have some herbal tea or infusions available in the evening.

Historic building with antique furnishings. Friendly and attentive staff. Breakfast was very good. Spacious, comfortable room. Wood fire on cold nights and hot water bottle provided. Beautiful grounds.

Staying at Ferncliff Bungalow in Nuwara Eliya was an absolute highlight of our trip. From the moment we stepped onto the property, the timeless charm and colonial heritage set the tone for a deeply relaxing stay. * Breathtaking Views: Waking up to the morning mist rolling across the hills and lush manicured gardens is magical. The panoramic scenery from the terrace and veranda offers the perfect tranquil backdrop to unwind with a warm cup of Ceylon coffee. * Warm, Efficient Service: The staff went above and beyond to make our stay effortless. Every request was handled with genuine warmth, speed, and discretion, making us feel completely at home without ever feeling intrusive. * Exceptional Breakfast: The morning spread was a culinary treat was a complimentary. Everything served was fresh, beautifully presented, and flavorful from the fresh fruits and warm scrambled egg on the 29th and local omelette on the 30th with bacon prepared to perfection apart from bread and butter. Ferncliff strikes the perfect balance of old world elegance, pristine nature, and top tier hospitality. We cannot recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning.
