Lil's On The Waterfront

Firm bed and quiet environment despite centrality.

The stairwell stank of urine for whatever reason. And pre-3pm check in involved leaving bags "behind the bar", without name being taken or tags given, which raised security issues.

The room was lovely, good size with a large bathroom with walk in shower. The location of this place is fabulous with it being on the riverfront and also withing walking distance to all other amenities such as shops, museums and bars etc... This is my 2nd review as I booked a second room as we stayed the evening before and invited my niece and her friend to come over and stay the second night - that's how much we loved it.

The only issues I had was with the steep staircase to access the rooms, there is nothing the owners can do about this as it is a listed building but we had a member of our party with COPD and this was quite difficult for them. We did manage however. The bed was creaky which meant we woke each other up if you moved or got up to go to the toilet. Again, we managed with this.

This is a lovely place situated in a listed building RIGHT on the waterfront. The location is absolutely perfect for local activities, shopping, bars and the outside terraces at the front for food and drink is fabulous. We also got discount off of the sister bars and bistro's. The rooms were lovely, warm and clean. The bathroom was large with a large walk in shower.

The only downside to this stay was the stairs .... its a listed building so cannot expect anything else so its not the fault of the owners but the stairs up to our room were steep and there was 2 x flights. A family member has COPD so this was not ideal. We did manage to cope but it was difficult. The only other think I can comment on is that the beds were really squeaky - we woke each other up if we turned over or got up to go to the toilet. Apart from these 2 issues this stay was fabulous and to be fair it hasnt put us off booking here again.

Excellent location, good food.

Bedroom and bathroom needs a good clean. Toilet seat was broken.
