The location was excellent, within easy walking distance of all main York attractions. The building was interesting and atmospheric and staff were very helpful.
We stayed for 2 nights and were disappointed that during our stay the bed was not made,, bins were not emptied and we had to source replacement toiletries from reception. We appreciate that the building did not allow for catering facilities, but would not recommend the 'grab and go' breakfast.

Amazing location, comfortable, clean room, staff friendly. Perfect base to explore York from.
We were in Room 1 which is in the basement, it has very low brick ceilings this meant the room was very hot and there was a noticeable lack of air flow from being underground

Unique experience - old world charm, interesting room, comfortable bed, clean. Liked to nespresso.
Didn’t store luggage which was a bit inconvenient - I was able to use Stasher but would have preferred leaving it there.
