No.5 Valley Lodge

The location, just 5 minutes from West Gate, is superb. Olivia and her team made our airport transfers and visits to the park effortless. Even though the weather didn’t cooperate for much of our stay, we had a great time relaxing on the rainy days at the lodge.

Not a negative, but this is a rustic lodge. It is very comfortable and the food is good but you should not expect luxury. The amazing staff make the difference.

We had a wonderful stay! The location was great, the room was lovely, and the staff were very friendly. A special thanks to Olivia and Felix, who were incredibly helpful and assisted us with everything.

The setting was absolutely beautiful, surrounded by mountains and forest with gorgeous views from the heated pool. The accommodations were warm and charming with lots of wood, and our room had everything we needed and more. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Olivia, whose excellent English made everything very easy for us. We also loved our guide, who is a tea master and artist. She guided us through Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, shared her family’s tea farm with us, and gave us a wonderful traditional tea experience. The food at the lodge was also delicious.

The property is very outdated! It really really needs a revamp. It if in a very rural area and there hasn’t been any maintenance to much of it in a long time. I would recommend staying in one of the villa’s as the other rooms where more like backpackers lodge. No view, very grim and didn’t feel comfortable at all. When I booked an upgrade I got a really lovely room with incredible views. So go straight for a nice big room.
