Jay Guesthouse and Restaurant (adult only)

I stayed here for 1 night with Mama She is a sweet lady, I had opted for a single room. The room was neat and clean it had a fan. Washrooms were near and clean and I felt more secure here and mama is so helpful, she even stored my luggage after check out, helped me with water and spoke to me about everything else. Such a beautiful soul ❤️ I highly recommend this place for solo travelers and women safety. The guest house is in prime location everything near by is walking distance.

Nothing as such

The place is very reasonably priced and clean the owner and the staff are the kindest people I’ve met in chiang mai If you in chiang mai come here and say hi to mama she has a lot of tour options as well

The owner is really kind at the day but don’t make noise at night

The mattress where a bit hard and you feel the spring on your back but otherwise nothing else

cheap & very good location

While I can overlook the lack of basic amenities for the price (there was no toilet paper, no soap, washrooms didn’t get cleaned/trahsbins emptied once in two days, and you could hear absolutely everything happening not just next door but throughout the entire hostel) those issues weren’t what ultimately made my stay unpleasant. The real problem was the owner. From the moment I checked in, she was extremely unfriendly and made me feel as though I was inconveniencing her simply by being there. Instead of a welcome, I was immediately warned that everything was under CCTV surveillance in case I “misbehaved”. During my stay, I also witnessed her shouting — genuinely shouting — at other guests. I have never felt so unwelcome in accommodation before. If you don’t want people around, perhaps running a hostel isn’t the right choice.
