Lovely period property, ideally situated for anybody walking the Coast to Coast trail.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. It’s a very quirky Old building with original features and beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. I loved everything about this hotel. Even down to the hot tap in the bathroom that turns the wrong way 🤣. The owner greeted us so warmly it was a pleasure to meet him. He asked iff we would like a tea/coffee and cake sent to the room which we did minus the cake. So nice to have lovely hot cup of coffee while unpacking. We were given a menu of breakfast items so we could order in advance. I like this because it saves waste and it’s also freshly cooked. And breakfast was gorgeous. The position of the hotel is perfect. Right in the middle of the town/village…..perfect. Pub next door and across the road. It’s also in a great position to walk the trails rather pennines. I would most definitely recommend this hotel.

The only thing I can criticise is that you can’t check in until 4pm and check out is 9.30am. Breakfast is 8 to 8.45am. For me it’s too early for breakfast. I would have preferred it to be around 9.30. But iff you know this before you book then you will probably be fine. Certainly not enough to down mark this wonderful hotel and lovely staff.

Fabulous place to stay on our Coast to Coast Walk. Beautiful house , super hosts and wonderful food. Totally recommend 😀

Friendly owners, beautifully decorated house. They put my bike safe in a shed for the night. Highly recommended to stay here.
