Boutique Hotel De Witte Dame

A beautiful boutique hotel with well appointed rooms in a lovely small town. I can see why it is a wedding venue. I was in Amsterdam for a seminar in the hospital and opted to stay there instead of Amsterdam central. The town of Abcoude is very pretty and peaceful. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms were large, comfortable and clean, and quite romantic actually with a double shower and tub in the middle of the room. Bed was great! The staff were very friendly and helpful. You can rent a bike and really feel like a local. Walking trails are nearby and the train is only a short walk too. The restaurant is beautiful and serves great food and drinks.

Nothing really. I think one side table was broken but I didn’t really care. Although if traveling with a friend, instead of alone or with a romantic partner, the shower/bath situation may be tricky with the lack of privacy.

Wonderful room and hotel.

Quiet country setting away from the city. Short walk to the train station. Bike rental on the property. Nice, small downtown area you can walk or ride to.

The location is excellent. Very quiet and secure with off street parking. The hotel is sign posted from the A2 motorway and is very easy to find. The breakfast was excellent. The dinner was excellent … although the bar “running out” of Dutch gin is a bit ridiculous! All the staff were very friendly (not always the case in the Netherlands!).

The room was a bit worn. In need of a refresh. Water stained and cracked hand basin but excellent shower. Broken window blind reduced light and there were mosquitos in the room which disturbed a good night’s sleep. A hotel should spray anti mosquito spray a few hours before guest arrival and then allow the room to air out.
