La Falconeria Hotel

Location was perfect for what we wanted to do in Valletta, The staff were very friendly and helpful when we need advice and services from their sister hotel, Breakfast was good plenty of choice no complaints there. Room was the perfect size , bed very comfortable, brilliant shower.

Overall have no complaints, only thing was there was no bar, As we sometimes like to sit in a hotel bar after a long day sightseeing. But it did not deter our experience at the hotel.

The breakfast at the Falconeria was absolutely superb. The setting was very comfortable and intimate without being too claustrophobic. The menu was extensive and the food was of a very good quality, from the coffee and pastries to the poached eggs and porridge (the Eggs Benedict was truly splendid). The Falconeria's location is also excellent, only a couple of minutes from the heart of Valletta and a short (albeit steep!) walk from the City Gate (and bus station), even with cases. It was also very quiet of an evening and made for a super base of operations to explore one of the best cities in Europe. Our room was excellently appointed, comfortable and very accessible (even with heavy cases). It is furnished in a contemporary style, which is very functional and does not detract from the overall historical feel of the hotel. The icing on the cake was the window box setting where we enjoyed sitting and watching the world go by a couple of times a day in between our adventures. We must also mention the staff, who were absolutely magnificent from our first hello upon arrival to our last goodbye as with heavy heart (and cases) we headed back up the hill to the City Gate. They were a credit to the Falconeria and definitely provide that special touch that makes for a memorable stay.

The price per night was higher that we had hoped it would, which is why we limited our stay to just the two nights. It made it a treat and ultimately one that we probably won't be able to enjoy again anytime soon. I do appreciate that all of the benefits that I have described above (high quality staff, super room, great location, exquisite breakfast) come with a premium; however, we did not feel that these completely justified the room rate.

Breakfast arrangements and organization was a little bit confusing, and more crowded than we expected.

The location is perfect for us. Near everything but far enough away from the crowds. Lovely room with large terrace. Friendly atmosphere. The staff seem to care about their guests

I find it difficult to say anything negative about the hotel. If I was pushed I would say the positioning of the hospitality tray could be better especially for someone shorter like myself.
