Beautiful accomodation, with a lovely cosy vibe in an incredible location.

Beds are a little hard.

I felt wowed by how nice my room was and how beautiful the hotel grounds are and how beautiful the village and the surrounding landscape is. It's a very special place. I especially enjoyed the hospitality at the hotel and the breakfast was two clicks above most places for me. I enjoyed their healthy, delicious options. Oh. And the bed was very comfortable. Again, two clicks above.

The village itself was charming and Saxonis house situated in a characterful lane.

It was very difficult to get our heavy luggage to the hotel. The lane approaching it was very narrow and we struggled to drive through and then had to reverse to return- we pulled our luggage back to the car park afterwards, with difficulty There was only a non English speaking rather surly dark haired lady there when we arrived , who was most unhelpful. Eventually she led us to a dark room with mattresses on a shallow wooden platform. This was not what we expected and difficult for 70 year olds to clamber in and out of bed. We were so sad not to have one of the more attractive rooms featured in the blurb. Breakfast was limited and somewhat haphazard.
