Torquay House (Royal Oak)

The staff were very friendly and helpful during check-in and during check-out. I was quite impressed with the amenities. The kitchen amenities were superb and for that alone I would come again.

The shower head was a bit crusted over with limescale so the spray from the shower was a bit all over the place and messy but that was the only issue I experienced. It can easily be sorted for someone staying more than a couple of nights. The bathrooms in general are a bit dated and nothing fancy but functional and good quality for the cost.

Staff were lovely, convenient location, great price.

Wish there were a few more amenities for the kitchen, like salt and pepper and a few more cooking items (cutting board, knife). I wasn’t put out by that but would have wowed me to be able to cook in the kitchen properly. Bed was a bit uncomfortable but like I said, for the price it was absolutely fine!

the apartment was lovely and fitted with all the things you need for a longer stay. Also walking distance to transport and cafes. The staff were very friendly and helpful

The location of this property is really fantastic! Very close to the tube station and bus stops. There are shops, food and wine store almost on the door step some open 24hrs. Having a private bathroom at this price is great. We couldn't hear any of the other residents through the walls or ceiling so sleeping is easy. The traffic from the main road is also minimal. The staff here are phenomenal, easy check in and always ready to help, we asked for extra toilet roll and to use the iron, they also helped with an issue with our shower. They always smile and say hello as you pass reception.

The shower in our room definitely needs to be fixed, but we found a way to keep it shut off during our stay. Generally the room looks like a budget room, but that's what you get when you pay less. Could do with updating and adding a tv.
