Villas D. Dinis - Charming Residence (adults only)

I absolutely loved this hotel. It was recommended by a friend and indeed it was as described. Firstly the location was perfect for me. Away from the centre but close to the beach and walkways along the cliffs. It was tranquil and truly relaxing. The ambience was really wonderful, lots of relaxing seats, deck chairs, swings. The property is divided into two locations 2 min walking distance and shares three swimming pools. The hotel provides beach/pool towels as well as beach umbrellas. Which was very convenient when you travel light. The breakfast was plentiful everyday as well as varied. It catered for vegans too. I would describe it as a typical continental type. Everything was tasty and, fresh. Our room was roomy with a comfortable bed. There were extra pillows and blankets in case we were cold. Our room had air-conditioning but we didn't use it and outside we had a set of chairs and a little table to sit outside. The swimming pool was outside the room and it even had some inflatables to lie on. All the rooms around us were full with guests but everyone was respectful of each other and quiet. The room was equipped with a little fridge and we had water, coffee and tea every day. Upon arrival we were also offered two bottles of wine. There were shower gels, soap and shampoo provided too. Service and staff were superb, friendly and helpful whenever asked anything. I would definitely return again and recommend it to friends.

The entire hotel was gorgeous and unique with beautiful gardens, stone walkways, charming balconies and pools. Also the breakfast was outstanding.

Really good breakfast with a lovely vibe. Nice and big rooms and lots of sun loungers. The hotel is a great location, close to the beach and a short walk into town but Ubers were so easy to get too when we were feeling lazy. Happy to give beach towels and a parasol to take. Also had new water, coffee and tea every day as well as a surprise bottle of wine on arrival. Really loved our stay.

Honestly the only thing is that the pool could do with de-bugging each morning

After you got your bearings there were a couple good restaurants close by. Breakfast was good and the breakfast staff were pleasant and very nice. Room was made up every day unless elected not to have room cleaned.

We were not happy staying in a fish bowl environment. The advertisement says private pool suite where actually there was no privacy. The location of the the private suite was in a hole ( lower section of the property) where the wifi was spotty ( advertised good wifi) and where the main path was above us so everyone including maids, ground keepers, customers, staff, cooks etc would walk by and look down on us swimming, lounging or just setting unless we were inside the uncomfortable living room with two old chairs and a small table in our quote upgraded private suite. ( bathroom was upgraded) The rest of the property had setting areas where guests just could set around the pool areas and look down on us again, No privacy! It was not worth the price we paid for our private pool suite. Old town was a hike and not as close as expected! If we could have got out of booking. com third party booking we would have checked out early.
