Royal Plaza Montreux

Beautiful place, ridiculously spacious rooms, slightly dated furniture but it had that "old school cool" vibe. Everything was perfectly functional despite the visible age. We had a view of both the street and the lake, as they generously upgraded us. The staff were extremely nice, breakfast was varied and good quality, and the location is absolutely top notch.

Some reviews point out the dated furniture, but as I said above, it was perfectly functional.

It was the second time I’d stayed at the hotel. Well located. Dogs are very welcome, for a fee of 49 CHF per dog. (49 x 3) We had one bed for three dogs-) A great Check out. Simple and frendly

I checked in with a trainee, she was very friendly. She wasn’t aware of the law stating that they aren’t allowed to ask for a credit card. They had the option of requesting a 50 CHF deposit… That would have been fine. Even more, if asked. They took long time to give 50 CHF possibility. A colleague of hers, who was at the computer next to her, suddenly started ranting He began shouting from a distance and being rude. When I spoke to him, he picked up the phone, which wasn’t even ringing. This had never happened to me before; the same Mr Maxime became aggressive. I hadn’t even taken the dogs out of the car, or the luggage, and he wanted the car keys. It was a really strange situation. He decided to threaten me, saying I was getting on his nerves… I went to the car; I thought to be best to keep my distance. I’d like to thank two of his staff who came to my aid. They were extremely helpful, as were everyone else. Few days pass, but I’m going to report the situation to authorities. Not least because this man has all my personal details.
