Staff are very friendly and helpful

Greeted by a cheery smile. Was given a quiet room, up 51 stairs but worth the journey. Room was a generous size, plenty of hot water, nice bathroom. Excellent lighting.
The lock on the door could be updated.

large room with high ceiling
Room 1. Impossible to get a good shower that was not too hot. The pressure of the cold water was so low that we could only get a shower of bearable temperature by turning off the hot and reducing the flow to not much more than a trickle. Not a good experience. My friend in room 4 experienced the same.
Secondly, the carpet on the stairs was filthy at the edges and appeared to be mouldy, although it may have just been dirty. It appeared like the edges had not been cleaned for 5 years or more, but the centre where people walked was OK. Are the cleaners blind?
