The Pelham London - Starhotels Collezione

Great location, just across from the South Kensington tube station, so it’s easy to get anywhere. It had a very British feel to it. The suite was roomy and lovely. Most of all, every staff member was friendly, kind and welcoming. Over our 5 night stay we felt like we were “home”.

Had to get used to the rumble of the trains running under the building but it didn’t take long for it to be like “white noise”.

The property is lovely and the staff are very kind and helpful.

My air conditioning cooled the room but also made it very humid and a bit damp smelling.

A wonderful stay from beginning to end. The location is exceptional, just steps from South Kensington station and within easy walking distance of the V&A, Chelsea and Knightsbridge. The hotel itself has so much character: warm, intimate and quintessentially English, with beautiful fabrics, rich colours and William Morris-style wallpapers that give it the feeling of an elegant private townhouse rather than a standard hotel. My room was lovely and I very much appreciated the upgrade. The staff were welcoming, attentive and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. Everything felt beautifully cared for, while still being relaxed and comfortable. I would happily stay here again.

Only a couple of very minor details. At breakfast, used plates were not always cleared promptly while I was still at the table — a small point, but something I would expect to be a little more attentive in a hotel of this standard. The matterass of the beautifully presented and wonderfully luxurious bed was a little too soft for my personal taste, as I am used to a very firm bed. These are very minor observations and did not detract from an otherwise excellent stay.

Great location. Clean property. Friendly staff.

Breakfast service was incredibly slow, food was ok but nothing special. For the cost of a one night stay in a “junior suite”, expected more. Just a large bedroom rather than a suite in our view. Hardly any tea/coffee supplies.
