La Guesthouse no podría tener una ubicación mejor, ya que se encuentra en la principal calle comercial de la ciudad antigua, a pocos pasos de la Torre Sur. Ocupa una vieja vivienda de estilo tradicional, bellamente decorada. La administra una persona muy gentil, que habla un buen inglés, y en el restaurante se come bien. Todo es limpio.
Quizás fue mi error haberla escogido, pero me pareció muy incómoda la cama tradicional, entre paredes por tres lados, y sin mesitas de noche. Pero lo peor es el baño, que sí es totalmente renovado, pero tiene un WC que se limpia solo si uno se sienta (algo incómodo para hombres), y al limpiarse hace un sonido muy penetrante y fuerte, al punto que se escuchan aquellos de los vecinos, y molesta el sueño. En la ducha, es muy difícil controlar y mantener la temperatura del agua.

La ubicación y el comfort de la habitación, que aunque era sencilla era muy cómoda, el desayuno nos encantó . En general calidad - precio fantástica

The restaurant food was actually really great, although the "free breakfast" was just a toast with a runny egg and a couple of dumpling reheated in the microwave. Its an overall quite cheap hostel.
I don't think Pingyao is worth visiting for a foreigner. Yes, you might have a couple of good photo opportunities, but all the museums are in chinese, and the town has transformed mainly into a medieval disneyland, with locals travelling to this village exclusively to dress as medieval people. There is a confusion with the hotel location. When you look it up in google maps, the browser takes you to an empty alleyway outside the city. The actual location in Google Maps is "Mini Guest House". If you can skip Pingyao, do it.
