The place is very easy to reach, less than a 3-minute walk from Teatro Central and about 5 minutes from Teatro Juárez and Jardín Unión. It feels cozy, like a true Mexican home. It’s welcoming, full of plants and lovely decorations, and the staff is incredibly friendly and kind. The place was very clean and quiet, with hot running water. It also has a lovely, spacious terrace with an excellent view of El Pípila, the University of Guanajuato, and the Cathedral. There’s even a designated smoking area. There’s also a tiny self-service shop based on an honor system, with drinks, snacks, tampons, and medicine in case you need anything during your stay. I truly recommend this place and would happily stay here again!

The only thing I didn’t like as much was the spiral staircase leading to the third floor. We’re petite girls, so it wasn’t much of an issue for us, but if you’re tall or have a broader build, it might feel a bit narrow. If you’re carrying large or heavy luggage, it could also be a little difficult to go up. It’s definitely doable, but just be careful!

Tight, small winding metal circular stairs to get upstairs. Old funky house, pension
