Barony Castle Hotel

We booked the night before we arrived and had a little adventure finding our way around the hotel corridors & the lovely grounds. Staff ranged from friendly & welcoming to some less so. Rooms comfortable and clean, restaurant dinner was great with some tasty options. Breakfast was a standard hotel chain self service buffet of continental & cooked options, plenty for all. We discovered the Great Polish Map of Scotland that was created in the grounds by a previous owner/manager which is definitely worth a little walk to see. Who new the geological map of Scotland was in the hotel grounds, a nice surprise in a walk around the large grounds. My room was quiet, breakfast had a lot of selection. What a lovely building to stay in.

Large car park, but parking was tight and quite full. Got lost finding my room through all the corridors but worked it out. The signage was a little odd in the room but ok.

Lovely one building in nice grounds

Room was like a Campanile Hotel standard. We overlooked the bins and area with people smoking. Very expensive for what it was, we felt ripped off as we were charged £265 for one night. Whereas I would estimate if as an £80 room, corridor floorboards are noisy so you can hear people walking past your room all the time.
