Uplands Inn Cartmel

Beautiful setting. Amazing views - sat outside watching the sun set with a G&T. Friendly, helpful staff. Room had everything we needed for a one night stay. Everything clean and tidy. Didn’t eat at the Inn so not able to comment on the food.

The tranquility where the Hotel is located was really nice. And so were the views from our bedroom window (we had the Eden Room) It was clean, spacious, nice shower and plenty of toiletries. The staff were pleasant, helpful and clearly hard working

The only thing that let the stay down was the quality of food coming out of the restaurant. We booked a table in the evening and to be really honest the food was really poor. I had the mussels for starter and the wife had the vegetable soup. The mussels were tiny and the sauce was bland. The soup was ok For mains had the homemade pie with mash. The pie was decent but the mash was terrible especially the texture! The wife had the Steak and it was ok at best. Breakfast was again poor For a restaurant that apparently sources local ingredients i expected a real treat but it was a let down
