Copthorne Hotel Wellington Oriental Bay

Handy location for those visiting the Convention Centre or Te Papa Museum. Not far from bus-stop for route 14 into CBD. Good views from restaurant.

Corridors to rooms were a bit narrow. Couldn't see any mini-bar, cookies or chocolates in room. Some view of the bay from common area was blocked by part of the building.

So well situated for city stay. Lovely to have view of harbour

The beds were rather soft with roll together in middle of shared bed

The room felt dated (especially the bathroom) - for the price, I expected more. I thought the $30 charge per night for on-site parking was steep, especially as we were staying for 3 nights. I'd suggest 2 nights paid and the remainder 'complimentary'. Also disappointed there was no flexibility with the hotel breakfast. We were after a light bite but it was either a cooked or full continental option only - nothing in between - so we opted for a coffee shop downstairs (which was lovely). I'm not sure I would choose to stay again.
