breakfast was good, staff friendly, onsite restaurant dinner was very good.

Google maps didn't take up to the entrance, extra instructions would have been handy. The system of borrowing pool towels was a bit of a pain. You had a to get a token and pay at deposit at reception which was quite a long way from the pool, which was through the grounds, over the road and down the lift.

More traditional property. There was a special character and lovely gardens

We stop here every year for an overnight before taking up our residence in our timeshare we wouldn’t go anywhere else centrally located free overnight parking clean and comfortable

Charming property lovingly maintained

Great view from the junior suite, looking at the ocean and pool, including a very nice large balcony. The hotel is at a good location, next to the pier so a quick stroll down the promenade to the center of Funchal. The breakfast was good, with an omelette station and a big ham to cut. Many cheeses and fresh fruits as well. The room was clean!

The restaurant had weird hours, on Friday night a DJ was playing super loudly until 11pm (this is right below the suite so super loud), and yet on Sundays they don't do dinner service at all and instead have a half menu of burgers and sandwiches. The pool could have been a bit warmer but made it work. The coffee wasn't the best at breakfast. The furniture and overall hotel seemed a bit dated and overall in need of upgrade. Not to be more modern, just less worn. There is a second entrance and reception to the junior suite which can be confusing, think they should have explained that in the booking so we can order a cab to the right location.
