House of Bruges

Quiet, comfortable beds, the rooms were large. The location was perfect and we enjoyed our stay.

The fans and ceiling lights were very dusty in Winter 1 and Winter 2 m. No glasses in the room, no fresh milk. Winter2 wardrobe was impossible to use as a short person, the hanging space was too high up. Also Winter 2 had no extractor fan in the bathroom so the bedroom was steamy. Also the bathroom was cornered off with a curtain.

Stylish chairs on balcony were a little uncomfortable, otherwise perfect

it was unusual, a lovely building. Lovely bathroom.

Check in was odd. There was supposed to be a guidebook but it wasn’t there so we didn’t know wifi codes, breakfast etc. i did message but got no reply. We paid for breakfast but then got a message to say breakfast wasn’t included - we did get breakfast and the staff said it was a booking.com issue as breakfast wasn’t included (i wouldn’t have booked at that price if it wasn’t). it’s a bit of a strange set up, and i’m sure that if the guest guidebook was available it wouldn’t have felt so odd. There was no air con but they did have a large fan going in the room so it wasn’t too bad.

Location was good and lifts to upper floors.

Original booked room was dark, with poor lighting. It was overlooked, with no privacy without curtains closed. Reception is not manned 24hrs and telephone not always answered. Cleaning is not perfect and room facilities not the best.
