HI Hostel Zagreb

Hostel is old but very clean. Staff are very friendly.

No individual light or outlet.

I stayed for part of the day without spending the night. You can leave your suitcases in a locker on site for a deposit before checking in. There are separate communal bathrooms on each floor. In the men’s area, I found one shower per floor. I got the impression that the ladies’ area had two showers per floor, but I can’t say for certain. There is no way to lock the showers. Behind an opaque door, there’s a space about half a metre deep, followed by the shower curtain and the shower. The communal toilets were in good condition. It’s pretty much ideal for a day-trip stay and the chance to have a shower before travelling on. The reception is staffed around the clock. The staff were friendly. I’d definitely recommend it.

The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. There was a large locker with a key, requiring a €5 deposit. The 24-hour reception was also very convenient, especially for late arrivals. Despite there's no kitchen, there is useful microwave was available and dishes and cutlery were provided by staff.

The street was noisy, but with the double-glazed window closed, it wasn’t an issue. There was only one shower per floor in the men’s bathroom. The beds didn’t have individual power sockets or reading lights or hooks (please do install hooks as it costs little and are quite useful).

Female staff were great but the guy with a beard was unfriendly.

No AC, no kitchen, and my first day was bad due to non-connection of wifi, this resulted to a missed meeting.
