Very cute little B&B in a great part of the city! The street is full of nice little restaurants and cafes, but still quiet at night and a central location just 10 minutes from the big hits (Colosseum, Foro Romano). The breakfast was ample and set up for the time we asked, which gave us a great start to the day. The owner let us leave our bags for no extra charge while we explored the city before returning to pick them up for our train out of town. Termini is only a 10-15 minute walk away, very doable even with baggage. The bed was very comfortable and the ensuite bathroom was cutely designed, with a great shower (good pressure and hot water).

The only real complaint was the coffee - I expected better for Italy, but it tasted like bad instant coffee. Maybe I just didn't ask for the right type, but I expected strong coffee from a mokapot or similar.

I really enjoyed staying at La Scalinatella. Anna was a wonderful host, and the place was very clean and in a great location just a 15-minute walk from the Trevi Fountain and 9 minutes from the Colosseum. Definitely a great option for staying in Rome!

On second floor no lift only stairs, breakfast was basic, smells of cigarettes and the hosts tone was unaccommodating..
