Lincoln House Private Hotel

The breakfast was fresh, tasty and served in a cosy well appointed room. The hotel staff adjusted their routine to enable us to park more easily and happily moved one of our party to a ground floor room when requested. An easy walk into the city centre and on an attractive street. The building has character.

It felt a little expensive for what it was. Some of our group found their beds uncomfortable and some of the decor needed attention. One room had a bad smell of drains in it.

Nothing to improve

The hotel is located in a charming district of old buildings. Located just 10 min walk from Sophia Gardens Coach Station.

There are no vegetables at all for breakfast. There is no elevator in the hotel. There is no safe deposit box in the room. If you consider staying there during winter, be warned that the room has a single - glazed window.

Spacious. Good location. Great breakfast.

Parking situation. We booked this property on the grounds free parking was stated to be included. On arrival we were advised there wasn’t any parking & was met with an ambivalent attitude by one particular member of staff. There were three spaces onsite blocked by cones. After a 7 hour drive my husband found a space over a mile away and walked back. I was informed should have booked parking in advance. Terms and conditions state that reservation of parking is not possible. After returning to reception and showing the booking stated free parking I was informed there was a space after all. My husband walked the mile back to retrieve the car. In the onsite car park a couple informed me they were staying at another hotel and had reserved and paid for a space via an app a few hours back. Unacceptable arrangements and not a good start to our stay.
