Lovely view from our room. Luxurious comfortable bed and pillows. Fantastic breakfast. Great location

Only one lift was working and it was a little slow, but that would be a temporary situation.

Some of the staff were really helpful and made the stay welcoming. The breakfast was ample and the room was clean and spacious with quality linen both the towels and the sheets. Location was excellent for the New theatre in Cardiff where we were seeing a concert in the evening. The early booking in was an advantage and we had Ed (Trainee) to Thank for that as we had already met him a few weeks earlier and booked breakfast. He had advised us to call on when we arrived in Cardiff and Pre-book to leave our over night bag. Fortunately for us our room was ready and we booked in a few hours earlier. Cheers Ed.

The Hotel was very noisy through the night with doors being closed and banging as they are not on a slow close arm and slam shut unless closed with caution. There are 3 lifts at the Cardiff Hilton and only 1 was working so it was sometimes a long wait. We were on level 7 and done the stairs a few times after getting frustrated by the lifts not always getting to your floor and being redirected. I had an Alarm/Bank alert at 06:00am telling me that I had been charged by the Hotel £178:55 and £78 at 03:00 & 04:00 AM for 2 transactions I had not made whilst asleep. This matter was resolved at reception and the money returned to my account immediately. So before checking out be advised to check and settle any bills outstanding. As someone on the night desk had charged me 3+3 times for a breakfast upgrade whilst I slept, hopefully that person will be spoken too.

It was not a 4-star hotel. Poor facilities. Broken hair dryer, no conditioner in shower. Insufficient loo roll, no yoghurt at breakfast, broken lifts, additional charge for use of the pool, poor TV picture quality, uncomfortable pillows. Ridiculously loud noise coming from the bar when checked in. Heard in room on the 6th floor. I’m actually not a moaner, but felt disappointed with the whole experience
