Hotel Riviera Del Sol

We will return to Hotel Riviera del Sol next time we visit Playa del Carmen. Location is superb, close to 5 ave but not too close so we could not hear the music, and two blocks from the beach. Breakfast was normal continental (fruit, bread, coffee, yogurt and juice) but proteins were available at low cost (5US). The room had a microwave, sink and refrigerator. Front desk staff was helpful with information on places to go around.

Lightning in the bathroom could be better.

Nice and clean

No elevator

The room was spacious, clean, and great value for money. The hotel is close to plenty of restaurants and shops, and the grounds are very green and lovely.

We found the breakfast a bit expensive.

Location

The toilet didn’t flush, the safe didn’t lock, the sliding door didn’t lock. It smelled very strong of mold. They did move us to another room the next day but that’s not fun when you should be on vacation
