Hôtel Sous les Figuiers

This is a charming and beautiful hotel, set just outside the 'inner ring' of Saint Remy. All of the decent restaurants and bars are easily walkable, as are the shops and dinky streets that make Saint Remy such a draw. The room was an ideal size, with a private terrace that was well shaded and large enough to relax, literally 'under the fig trees'. The hotel covers a fairly small footprint but packs in a private and relaxing space of tranquillity and calm. Breakfasts were fabulous. Local jams and preserves accompanied fruit and of course bread of all descriptions. Coffee was great too. Check in and check out were very easy and simple. Mallory was very helpful and all staff were so nice.

The car park was a little tight for larger vehicles. This didn't bother us but I might have felt a little constrained if driving the kind of tanks that everyone else seems to enjoy.

The breakfast was good and varied.

The toilet roll holder is in a very bad place in a very small toilet area in that you easily knocked the roll on to the floor moving it 40 cms towards the rear of the room would avoid it happening.

Superb location, lovely garden and atmosphere

Bit more lightning options (e.g., indirect light to spice up the vibe/atmosphere) and a fridge in the room would be great. Plus some veggies for the breakfast.
