Hotel Aquila D'Oro Desenzano

This is a small friendly hotel on the south shore of Lake Garda. The staff are very helpful and get the 'attentive' bit spot on. We walked everywhere as we always do, however having use of a car would be useful. Our room overlooked the Lake, was spacious and was cleaned every morning. The meals in the restaurant were generally excellent and we would recommend the wine from the local winery. There is plenty of choice for breakfast as well. We also enjoyed the local beach bar which is located 50 yards outside the front gate. If visiting, do go to Sirmione and also make use of the ferry from Desenzano to other parts of the Lake.

All was good, though the reception staff did have the very occasional issue with understanding us!!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and really enjoyed our time here. The hotel was beautiful, very clean and well maintained, and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. The surroundings are lovely, with beautiful views over Lake Garda. Breakfast was excellent with a great selection, and the coffee from the machine was especially good. There was also plenty of parking, which made everything very convenient. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

Hotel Aquila exceeded our expectations. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. We ate in the hotel 2 nights and the food was very good and reasonably priced. There is a bus stop outside the hotel, meaning that we could easily visit other places in the area. There is a bar on the lake outside the hotel had a great atmosphere, excellent value for money if you just want a drink and a snack. When we return to Lake Guarda we won't hesitate to book Hotel Aquila again to use as a base.

It is an excellent lakeside location with uninterrupted views from our balcony room.

Nothing about the property the staff are delightful and helpful. However there is a bar close to hotel which was very noisy on Saturday night until 2.30am Had we known the staff would have reported the bar to local authorities for noise had we called them. Lesson learned, the staff couldn’t have been more apologetic about it.
