Hotel Benois

The hotel is really cozy, well-equipped, and has a wonderfully spacious feel. It’s right next to the bus station and just across the street from the beautiful Galissas Beach, making it very conveniently located. They provide beach and pool towels, have a lovely bookshelf where guests can borrow books, and serve a wonderful breakfast every day. The buffet offers a great variety of delicious options, so there’s something for everyone. I stayed there with my husband for a week, and thanks to Despina and her mom, we truly felt at home. They are lovely, warm, and incredibly supportive people who went out of their way to help us navigate the challenges of visiting at the end of the season, when the nearby tavernas and grocery stores were already closed and we had to go to Finikas or Kini to find places to eat and shop. They even drove us around! ♥️ I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. It was a wonderful experience, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Galissas!

The only minor issue we encountered was a small leak in the bathroom whenever we showered, which occasionally left the floor wet. It wasn’t a major inconvenience, but addressing it would make an already lovely stay even more comfortable. We also didn’t complain during our stay.

Great location. Really delightful staff who were always on hand and so helpful, especially Marguerite on the front desk and the lovely young lady who runs the bar - both were outstanding.

The restaurant 😟. Extremely disappointing . Such a shame, really lets the place down. Breakfast is adequate but no more. The eggs are left for ages so rubbery unless you get in early! All the hot selection is at best tepid and made worse by the lack of hot plates - an actual ’hot’ breakfast is basically unavailable! I don’t think there is a real chef as such because there is no proper dinner menu with the only food available being a bar/pool menu which works ok at lunchtime but offers nothing different in the evening (except one rather uninspiring daily ‘special’). Consequently we ate out each night at one of the local restaurants- the nearest of which is very good.

The pool and surrounding area is nice. The reception area, bar and eating areas are also. Nice balcony. The breakfast was ok but… Courtesy ride to the port was unexpected but welcome.

Our room smelt a bit. I think we booked a double and ended up with a triple. The mattress cover was hiding multiple stains. At breakfast, the main coffee machine was broken and the alternative coffee machine coffee was awful. The use of radio playing western rock/pop not really appropriate for Greek breakfast time. Apart from the owner and Margarita the other staff didn’t seem that friendly. For the main meals menu there were two vegetarian options. Both are based on a cauliflower steak. The meal with eggplant and capers was tasteless and the cauliflower overcooked.
