Houghton Place

Amazing hospitable guest house owners

Nice and quiet

Nothing, I was scared of the dogs but the owner gave me assurance that I’m safe

From the moment we arrived at Houghton Place, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. Pat greeted us warmly and showed us to our spacious, beautifully presented room. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and after a long day of travelling we enjoyed one of the best night’s sleeps we’d had in a while. After heading out for dinner, we returned to find our wonderful hosts, Janice and Sam, who kindly invited us to join them for a glass of wine and a chat. What started as a simple conversation turned into a lovely evening that made us feel completely at home. Each morning began with a superb breakfast, with a great selection including eggs and bacon, fresh fruit salad, cereals and yoghurt—everything you could want to start the day. Houghton Place is more than just a wonderful place to stay; it’s a place where genuine hospitality shines through. We arrived as customers and, a few days later, left as friends. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
