Hotel Celio

We were so lucky to stumble upon Hotel Celio. This is a small hotel of 20 rooms full of charm, furnished with some lovely antiques, mosaic flooring and some nice artwork on the walls. Hotel Cellio is listed on the Historic Hotels List of Rome. Located in a very nice area two blocks from the Colesseum, there are many great cafes and restaurants very near by as well as good shopping. Our room was small and the bathroom smaller but this did not matter. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, coming back to our clean room and comfortable bed with nice linens at Hotel Celion was always welcoming. If you can, when booking, try to get a room on the courtyard side of the hotel for a quieter stay. But the best part of this sweet little hotel is the host and owner, Roberto with all his many kindnesses and recommendations. On our last night he arranged our taxi for the following morning for our 3:30 am.departure to the airport. That morning as we quietly departed our room at 3:30 am , Roberto was in the lobby to be sure our taxi arrived as arranged and we were off with his warm arrivederci. Thom and Lynn Maine

It’s a beautiful place, right next door to the Colosseum, the Forum and 10mins to the Pantheon. Comfortable rooms and friendly accomodating staff. Reception was available all times. The Terrace is a nice place to chill over a beer.

This beautiful historic hotel is steps away from the Colloseum and the Roman Forum. The breakfast is lovely and the staff are friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it.

Fantastic location. Very helpful and friendly staff. Lots of very good restaurants in the surrounding streets. Great air con which was very welcome.
