Irori Guest House Tenmaku

Unfortunately we didn’t stay at guesthouse irori as there was in issue with our room. They contacted us a few days before to apologize re this and organised us alternative accommodation. We stayed at hotel guesthouse gaku. They organised this for us and offered a complimentary private onsen for the inconvenience. Gaku was fine, good location, authentically Japanese and friendly staff.

Unfortunate to not stay at irori.

Book this one right now. We boked this place to be in route to the local attractions. It was a bit out of the way, but super walkable from the bus or train route near by. It is not in the main area of Hakone, but the were restaurants, family marts, and local attractions within minutes of here. The three ladies that run this place were AMAZING, they spoke English extremely well, and took care of us like family. We did dinner the first night elsewhere, but elected theirs the second night. It was three and a half hours of the most beautiful experience of our trip. We sat with seven other travelers from all over the world, They allowed us to do a bit of laundry in their facility, which helped us continue our backpacking trip. The shared bath facility felt extremely safe and clean. We even let our teenage daughter wander around alone.

Nothing, this is exactly what you hope for.

The staff are so kind and amazing, young lady’s so friendly. They make dinner for 10pax I didn’t assist but was smelling very well and they make you speak with other people to have nice time together The place is very nice and the location to go upstairs to Fuji is very nice 💫

All was fantastic

We actually stayed at the sister property to Irori as there was an issue with our room before we got there. Communication was great. Loved Hakone Tent! Really interesting property, 2 onsens, bar, takoyaki making and friendly people.
