We had a lovely stay at Viewpoint Resort in Koh Tao. It’s a very nice upscale boutique spot that helped our family relax. The rooms are comfortable with a king size bed and beautiful sea views, and the staff are wonderfully kind and family-friendly. The breakfast is great, and our baby was warmly welcomed, which made things really enjoyable. The location is very convenient, about a 5-minute walk to Jun Juea Beach, which has a nice little bar and cafe. The island is hilly, so there are steps between the room and restaurant. The bathroom is outdoor, which can get hot at times. Overall, a relaxing, scenic stay.

The only downside was the many steps, which is unavoidable on a hilly island. Taxis cost about 100 baht per person, which adds up for a family. Otherwise, you can walk along the beach to a couple more upscale restaurants. Aside from that, honestly there’s nothing to complain about. They even help arrange taxis when needed, and the beach area nearby has several nice dining options.

A bit of a debacle regarding a room credit usage, wish breakfast started a bit earlier as for those of us diving we need to be at the dive centers 0725 and breakfast did not start till 0730, definitely the bugs especially in the bathroom, but really, a beautiful place

- very nice pool villas (the rooms were just amazing) - exclusive, calm and quiet - very well equipped rooms (you got your own water cooker to make tea or coffee, a Bluetooth music box, free water exchanged daily, there's a Minibar with everything you need) - they clean your room/villa daily if you wish so (they come with a full armada of very polite cleaners) - staff is very very kind - possibility to let breakfast bring to your villa for free - small shop and motorbike rental nearby

- breakfast was underwhelming (we missed some proper western/European breakfast options, like proper Joghurt, proper cheese, more fruit options; it was more an American/Thai tailored breakfast, very sweet bread etc. Although there is a sourdough bakery in town) - dinner is underwhelming and waaaay to expensive, like ten times the normal price for a meal per person if you went to town; at the same time, the meals we ordered were already kind of cold and not prepared very well, overcooked fish, lacked taste, etc. - do not eat at the hotel, just go to the nearby town - since it's very far from anything (which has its benefits as well) you either always need a taxi or rent a motorbike to get anywhere (which is not really a big disadvantage from my pov)
