Amazing spot, easy to find. Owners very accommodating. Would recommend 10/10

It was beautiful and comfortable place to stay. Enjoyed the hot tub and view. Very clean. It was a short stay and the hostess made it worth the stay.

We were looking for a place where we would be able to explore the Eganville area as well as relax and spend quality time with our daughter. The cottage on Mink Lake offered us that opportunity. We were able to visit the Pembroke area on one day and the Barry’s Bay/Madawaska Highlands on another. We made use of their fire pit on two evenings, enjoying roasting marshmallows and talking. It was exceptionally quiet. They supplied a paddle boat and kayaks, but we did not make use of them. The cottage was very clean, with a nice layout and two full washrooms on the main floor. The kitchen was well equipped with all the cooking pots and pans and there were more than enough cups, glasses, plates etc to feed lots of people. As much as we did enjoy ourselves on this vacation, we did have some issues that detracted from our stay there. The first problem we ran into was that we did not realize that “linens” were not supplied, this meant no blankets or comforters. We brought our own sheets and pillowcases but there were no blankets. They normally offer to supply “linens” for a set fee, but that option was not being offered to us. A quick phone call to the owner resulted in her quickly arranging for the neighbour next door to bring over some for us. This ended up costing us a $50 cleaning fee. Also not supplied were drinking water, condiments, spices or oils. You were also asked to bring your own bath towels, toilet paper and paper towels. This was also probably due to COVID-19 concerns. We had brought a sufficient supply of these. Another problem was the large number of house flies. They hung around the patio door and came in every time we opened it. The flies would bother us as we sat talking, ate or slept. Additional things that influenced our rating were: 1. They had a very detailed 12 page contract. This supplied a lot of useful information. But it also had a lot of rules, many of which were “common sense”. There was also a detailed check out sheet to fill in and sign. I contrast this to a VRBO stay where there was no contract. There was a one page welcome flyer in the house. This place also supplied everything, including free firewood. The two rentals cost almost exactly the same price. 2. The owners have installed security cameras. We do like our privacy and would have been more comfortable if we knew they were turned off during our stay. 3. The washrooms and showers did not have grab bars, which are recommended.
