Footsteps from the wide beach and rolling waves, you and your family (including the 4 legged ones) will create memories on this peaceful, relaxing and safe beach. Only a 5 minute stroll down the beach and you'll be grabbing a bite to eat or a cold drink at one of the local restaurants, a slushy at Sunset Slush or picking up some saltwater taffy at the local candy shop. For maximum relaxation time you'll be rocking away on the cozy, large back porch and enjoying a sunrise or sunset view (from late fall to early spring you will enjoy both sunrises AND sunsets from the back porch on the same day!). Many books, games, and puzzles await in the living area with plenty of space for everyone to spread out. A well-equipped kitchen is ready for you to make a family meal that can be enjoyed in the spacious dining room or at the outdoor picnic table. Two large, enclosed outdoor showers provides plenty of space to relax and cleanse after a long day at the beach. Even a fenced in dog area is available and ready for your pup. If some time away from the beach is in order, stretch your legs at the Holden Beach family park, basketball court and children's outdoor splash area, a 5 minute walk away. High speed (1 Gig internet) & fiber to the home.
Home is equipped with a whole home air cleaner & 3M clean living anti-allergen active carbon filter.
For dog owners: If your dog is housebroken and does not chew on household items, they are welcome at Life is Shore-t. If you bring your dog, pick up pets waste and dispose of properly. The outdoor shower includes a handheld shower head to make washing off the kids and pups a breeze. Note that Holden Beach does not allow dogs on the beach from May 20th to September 10th between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Up to 2 dogs are included in the dog fee. Contact owner if you have more than two furry friends who want to come to the beach, additional $350 non-refundable dog fee applies.

This was just what my family and I needed after a long stressful year. Very relaxing and well stocked home on the beach that allowed us to just decompress and reconnect. The area is also very peaceful, convenient and not as commercialized which also added to the relaxation. The owners were very responsive even when the power went out during a storm one morning. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

This is a great beach house! They don't make them like this anymore, right? I love the familiar layout with the 4bd/2ba like so many beach houses we've rented over the years. It has gorgeous unobstructed views, and is dog friendly but still very clean. It made me wish I had a dog still. Plenty of pots and pans, glasses, coffee mugs. Great appliances too! We'll definitely be back!

To start with the highs, the location was truly wonderful! The view from the deck was amazing and being able to walk right out to the beach was sublime. We had the opportunity to watch some really breathtaking sunsets and then walk right back to the house, which was really convenient. The place itself was the perfect size for our group of seven - it felt cozy and intimate without being cramped. And we loved how dog friendly it was! Waking up to the sounds of waves crashing on the shore was really something special. The main negative here was due to cleanliness - we unfortunately saw many cockroaches during our stay, killing probably 5 really huge ones. This was a common occurrence both day and night. We did alert the property owners to the issue, so hope it can be addressed for future renters as the place is really incredible otherwise. We also were sadly unable to enjoy the deck as much as we’d have liked due to the overabundance of gnats. We couldn’t really hang out on the deck for more than a few minutes without being eaten alive, though this could be a seasonal issue as I didn’t see this brought up in other reviews. The plus was that we saw many a beautiful dragonfly going after this feast of bugs, but we would have preferred being able to sit out on the rocking chairs and enjoy the outside more - this is no fault of the owners, just something to be aware of. Overall, a very nice stay!
