Hotel Metropole

The hotel is centrally located in Rosio’s plaza close to public transportation ( metro, trams, buses). It is 10-15 min away from Praca de Commercio -close to the water. The hotel has air conditioning and elevator, free breakfast ( great coffee and free pastais de nata!!) :)). The breakfast is good, same food everyday. There are many restaurants nearby where the waiters ask people to sit down and enjoy a meal. The staff, especially Joao and Ricardo were very nice. Joao gave me a lot of details about how to get to different places using public transportation. Ricardo helped me get an additional room due to certain circumstances at a very reasonable price. There is a pharmacy rigt next to the hotel and a sports shop close by ( for Ronaldo’s fans). Everybody speaks English there, even regular people on the bus or trains. We had a great stay at Hotel Metropole - on the 5th floor , on the opposite side of Rosio’s plaza, away from the noise. Thank you Joao and Ricardo! I will be back!

WE Loved to location and our room with the view was fantastic.

Hotel Metropole was the perfect place to stay. Conveniently located in the old part of town, we were withing walking distance to the best streets with shopping. The staff went above and beyond in making sure we had everything we needed. The workers at the reception desk all spoke English well. The breakfasts were good. The only drawback (a small one) was the showers were not the most convenient and we ended up with water on the bathroom floor after every shower. But, if we ever go back, we will definitely stay at Hotel Metropole!!

Great central location. Our room had a beautiful view of the castle at night.
