Hotel Mikligardur

The place architecturally isn't "beautiful" or "luxurious". However, it is sparkling clean and has all the amenities you can think of. Everything just works. The staff are super helpful. I had some laundry that needed to be done and they were able to help me out. I had some things that needed to be air dried and they were able to accommodate. The next morning, I was able to pick up my clean and dry clothes. The breakfast was also quite good and was a true buffet. I think the place used to be a dormitory of some kind, but I actually kind of liked the vibe. It had a dry charm to it. And while my room might have been smallish by square footage, it "felt" much roomier. I was allowed to bring my bicycle into my room and I felt like I still had plenty of space.

Super helpful staff. Facilities were very clean. Good breakfast.

Property was probably dorm rooms. It wasn’t terrible. We didn’t really have occasion to interact with staff. We stayed one night on our loop around Iceland. The town doesn’t have much by way of restaurants. Keep expectations basic.

The room with a private bathroom was clean and sufficient. Its all a bit sterile as its a student dorm. The breakfast was basic. Easy to park and location was convenient.
