I have stayed in this beautiful colonial Kavia hotel before in the heart of the historic central district of Mérida. A light breakfast is available in the courtyard. The rooms are updated and quiet and the staff are thoughtful and friendly.

The location is excellent!!!
The rooms are not. There are 3 floors with steep steps and no elevator. The pool is not a pool, it is a pond that is dirty. The shower head gives you drips of water which means you can take up to 30 minutes to get a semi decent shower. The cleaning staff is awesome. They were there every day even on holidays and are very respectful. The breakfast staff was not and never ready on time. Rude and angry gentleman. Breakfast offered is not worth it.
